RSA West Midlands Annual Forum

Wednesday 21 July 2010 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Following the West Midlands Roundtable Event in March, RSAWM Fellows are invited to an Annual Forum on 21 July 2010 at BIAD School of Art to discuss and debate plans for regional activity.

The RSAWM Project Panel proposes an experimental year of activity under the umbrella of A Year of Design and Innovation and initial plans will be shared that evening. Facilitated discussions will provide an opportunity for all attending Fellows to share and devise new ideas for the next six to twelve months of regional activity.

This event also provides an opportunity for a wider consultation with Fellows in the West Midlands region and to continue to bring Fellow led activity to the core of future strategy.  Held at the BIAD School of Art on 21 July, and taking A Year of Design & Innovation as a starting point, the 2010 Annual Forum will comprise two main parts. Firstly, Professor Chris O'Neil, BIAD’s Executive Dean, will provoke and challenge us with a history of design and its links to manufacture. Secondly, Fellows will have the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas in facilitated discussions to see what we can collectively devise for the next twelve months of RSAWM activity.

The event will be chaired jointly by Keith Horsfall and Richard Hawley from the RSAWM Project Panel and group discussions will be facilitated by Fellows from the region.

Venue: Birmingham Institute of Arts & Design, School of Art, Margaret Street, Birmingham B4 7DX http://www.biad.uce.ac.uk/about/margaret.htm
